Sophia's ghost
Sophia Baker is a character featured in Murdered: Soul Suspect. She is a shy ghost that has lost the ability to speak who guides Ronan O'Connor to the Investigations of the Lake and the Shoreline.
Background[]
Almost nothing is known about Sophia's past except that she was a medium who helped locate a missing man, as seen in the Bell Killer Targets are Mediums Clue. Before the events of the game, Sophia was tracked down by the Bell Killer and killed by being tied to a chair and dropped in the river, where she drowned, one of the many execution methods used during the Puritan era Salem Witch Trials. This was done because the Bell Killer believed her to be a witch that had gotten her powers through a demonic Contract.
Murdered: Soul Suspect[]
Sophia takes Ronan to the scene of her death by making him chase after her. Not only is this the reason why she was running, but also because Ronan was actually the one who killed her while possessed by Abigail Williams. When Ronan asks about a contract that the Bell Killer asked her about, Sophia recognizes his face and lets out an anguished scream that disorients Ronan before disappearing. It is unknown what became of her as she wasn't seen again; it is likely she was able to pass on after Abigail was consumed by Lost Souls, thus avenging her death.
Trivia[]
- Julie, another ghost who drowned, was able to speak perfectly. The reason for this is unknown.
